The Jeff “Scoop” Ellis Stage @ The Dog Bowl
In 2025, we lost an integral part of our Black Dog family. To honor his legacy, we named the stage at The Dog Bowl after him, a space that exists today because of his vision, his persistence, and his unmistakable spirit.
Many Salvage Dawgs fans will remember Jeff “Scoop” Ellis as our shop foreman in the early seasons. He was instrumental in transforming our Custom Fabrication Shop into what it is today. For years, Jeff led our Design Center, crafting monumental and meaningful works of art. He also played a key role in restoring The Stone House and bringing it back to life.
He was a fellow dog lover and true scallywag – always looking to get a rise out of us, but always having our backs.
When we acquired the strip of land next to our parking lot, Jeff saw what we didn’t… a natural amphitheater and gathering space for the community. Even after Robert initially dismissed the idea, Jeff kept clearing the land, determined to prove it would work.
Today, The Dog Bowl stands as a vibrant gathering space, and at its heart is The Jeff “Scoop” Ellis Stage. It’s more than a name, it’s a reminder. Of vision. Of grit. Of the kind of person who sees potential where others don’t and refuses to walk away from it.
We are proud to carry Jeff’s vision forward. And in every show, every gathering, every moment shared in that space, we feel his presence.
