a house in Barnesville

New Episode of Salvage Dawgs – Barnesville, OH, Italianate House

Last Wednesday, the Dawgs headed to Barnesville, Ohio, to salvage elements of a beautiful Italianate-style house, working with old friend Chris Sauer of Columbus Architectural Salvage. Unfortunately, the weather was not kind to them, and the Crew had to work through snow, winds, and single-digit temperatures while carefully extracting the ornate corbels and exterior stonework.
Inside the house, Robert and Grayson took extra care to remove the doors fully intact – meaning extracting them in the jamb, transom and all! As a result, they came away with some great salvage.
Some of the fun salvage and finds the Crew came home with included a mahogany Eastlake door with hardware, a marbelized slate mantel, an ornate radiator, decorated terracotta keystones, Victorian corbels, terracotta wall blocks, and MUCH more!
