Grottes COuntry Store

New Episode of Salvage Dawgs – Grottoes Country Store

In this week’s episode, the Dawgs head to Grottoes VA, just west of Shenandoah National Park, to an old gas station/country store that has ended its run. Watch as the crew salvages two beautiful stained glass windows (yes, a classy gas station), columns, doors and do a little pickin’ on the inside….. then, for a little drama, knock it down!

Using materials from the project, Mike and Robert draw on their own military service and work with The Joel Fund to complete a special build for Landing Zone Grace (“LZ-Grace”), a warriors retreat, where Lynnette Bukowski provides a place of respite for combat-weary warriors and their families.

This episode features an eclectic mix of finds – an Alexander Revell glass display counter, a ceramic double basin sink, cast iron corner sink, a vintage 10-speed bike, a German brewing hop doser tank, and MUCH more!

The Joel Fund

The mission of The Joel Fund is to improve the lives of veterans and their families by providing a connection to non-traditional services. Their vision is to create a strong community of support for veterans and their families and connects them with resources such as LZ-Grace.
