As we look back on 2020, we celebrate these silver linings and look ahead to a New Year!
SALVAGE DAWGS
Eight years, eleven seasons, and a total of 143 episodes! A huge ‘thank you’ to everyone who has supported Salvage Dawgs along the way! While we have officially wrapped filming, all eleven seasons are available to watch on Amazon, Discovery Plus, iTunes, and YouTube TV. Click here for more about the series finale. THE DAILY DOG
When our retail doors closed briefly due to the pandemic, Mike picked up the social media reins and started “The Daily Dog” with video updates from our warehouse. Mike continues to post “not so daily” updates. Follow us on Facebook or visit our YouTube playlist for updates!
THE DESIGN CENTER
Our Design Center and Fabrication team have been busy creating custom furniture using reclaimed materials including kitchen islands, wrought iron fencing, beds, swings, and of course plenty of tables and bars! What can we build for you in 2021? Click here for details.
THE MARKETPLACE
In addition to architectural salvage, our warehouse is home to The Marketplace at Black Dog Salvage. In 2020, we welcomed 10 new booth vendors and 22 artists and artisans to The Marketplace. We are proud to showcase over 100 regional artists and artisans offering a variety of work in oil, acrylic, watercolor, metal, wood, and ceramics. THE DOG BOWL MARKET
While we were not able to host the Dog Bowl concert series as planned in 2020, we turned lemons into lemonade and launched The Dog Bowl Market. The Market hosts guest vendors offering handmade and vintage items, food and wine, and local musicians. We look forward to continuing the Market every third Sunday of each month in 2021. THE LOFT GALLERY
In 2020 we transformed our mezzanine into The Loft Gallery, featuring regional art, pottery, sculpture, and furniture. This new space is also available to host private events in a unique setting.
TXTUR FURNITURE
TXTUR Furniture is another welcome addition to our showroom, featuring furniture sustainably made here in Roanoke and shipped direct-to-customer. TXTUR is committed to reducing the waste stream and we are proud to also carry their high-end fabric remnants in our Design Center. For details, visit our blog here.
WINNDOM MATTRESS COLLECTION
After rave reviews from our Stone House guests, we now offer the Winndom Mattress Collection for sale in-store and online. Each mattress is handcrafted in Virginia, with all materials sourced in America, and shipped by UPS. For details, visit our blog here.
RECLAIMED BARNWOOD SHIPLAP PANELING
In 2020 we introduced Reclaimed, our brand of easy-to-install shiplap paneling sourced from Appalachian barnwood. Ready to ship in boxes of 20 square feet each, this paneling is perfect for the do-it-yourselfer!

BLACK DOG SALVAGE FURNITURE PAINT
Black Dog Salvage Furniture Paint turns FIVE this year! Developed in-house to be safe and easy to use, our self-leveling paint dries to a velvety, matte finish and can be used on a multitude of surfaces, including glass, metal, wood, and ceramics. THE STONE HOUSE
One of the silver linings of 2020 was welcoming guests to The Stone House! Our greatest compliment is a return visit and we were fortunate to welcome back many returning guests this past year.
